Rodney Decipeda has been the head football coach at John Hay High School since the program relaunched in 2008 after athletics were paused during the closing and rennovation of the school from 2002-2006. He teaches Human Anatomy & Physiology and Biology at John Hay Architecture & Design.

Prior to coaching at John Hay, Decipeda was an assistant coach at Lincoln-West High School and at Slippery Rock High School, PA. He earned a bachelor of arts in biochemistry from Kenyon College, OH where he played football. He earned a masters of education from Slippery Rock University, PA. The Chardon native graduated from Chardon High School and was a member of the football team for head coach Bob Doyle.

Coach Decipeda and his wife Andrea have three children - Joshua, Jacob, and Abigail.

Mark Angelo has been coaching football at John Hay High School since 2014. He teaches Physical Education and Health at John Hay Early College.

Prior to coaching at John Hay, Angelo was an assistant coach at St. Edwards High School. He earned a bachelor of arts in health and physical education from the University of Miami, OH where he played football, and earned a masters of education from Cleveland State University, OH. The Parma native graduated from St. Edwards High School and was a member of the football team.

Coach Angelo has three children.

Michael Rush has been coaching football at John Hay High School since 2022. He serves as the  Planning Center Instructional Aide (PCIA)  at John Hay High School.

Prior to officially joining the coaching staff at John Hay, Rush volunteered for the program beginning in 2019. He earned a bachelor of arts in sports management from Baldwin Wallace University where he played football. The Cleveland native is an alumnus of John Hay Early College and was a member of the football team.
